What can I say….A passion for cooking and being surrounded by foodies all my life led me to get this blog started.
My earliest memories of cooking always centered around mama’s kitchen. She’s a wonderful cook and an inspiration. Endless summer afternoons spent helping her bake loaves, cakes and cutting out doughnuts….I can still get a whiff of her fudge making….helping her throw in the walnuts and hearing her say “Just a minute it’s not done yet” and then of course licking the spoon after spreading the mix on the pan. Such wonderful memories. My husband too absolutely loves to experiment in the kitchen…I have learnt the art of cooking patiently from him. Invaluable lessons in cooking learnt from my Mother in law who taught me the basics of a good Curry. Simple but wholesome recipes..mastered to the art of perfection…secrets handed down from generation to generation…My son who is a fussy eater but loves good food….What’s for dinner Ma” Those four words we all hear as parents…and that I must say inspires me to cook good healthy and interesting meals..
And my most amazing experience was of course running a Mrs Field’s Cookie Franchise in Toronto. And whoever said that the food business was all glitzy….yes have worked fourteen hour days, baking from morning to night, almost slept over night at the store trying to finish off baking orders for Valentine’s and Christmas…But was such a fulfilling experience…Yes would do it all over again…Oh for the love of food.
And not forgetting all my wonderful foodie friends that share the love for good food either helping me in the kitchen while making it or around the dining table while enjoying it.
So come on over to my kitchen and join me in this adventure of cooking, eating and writing about food.
To Food, Family,Friends and Laughter Always!

What a beautiful blog, photography, food! Dubai, how exotic. I love Thai cooking, yours looks so fresh. I didn’t know green mangos were eatable! Your “scratch” cooking is without pre-packaged mixes, except of course for the Thai sauces, that’s the kind of cooking along with the local ingredients makes food from countries like yours so memorable!

Thank you for following my blog! I would never have found you. Are you working in India? I see that you once owned a Mrs. Field’s cookie franchise…my husband and I owned a gourmet cupcake business which we set up as a mom and pop for 4 years. We closed in 2015, December after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. We both baked, decorated, etc. and I have a second job as an English Instructor during the fall and winter semesters. He is cancer-free now but returns in July for another exploratory operation. I am enjoying the time off and our time together! Yes, I still love to bake but being on the fringe of a not great area cured me of opening a small business. We had great reviews, and people came from all over but in the end, we just needed more business and healthier lives. Best wishes. Owning a un-established small business is not for the weak of heart. I look forward to reading your blog.
