It’s March already and as always a time when there’s lots of baking in my kitchen.Spring Fair’s,Birthday’s, Mother’s day  and of course Easter baking to be done as well.Had a lovely chat with Mom earlier on today.Just wishing her a Wonderful Mother’s Day.That’s when my son realised he had almost forgotten to wish me.Ofcourse he came around and did so with a great big hug. Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn, Hundreds of bees in the purple clover, Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn, But only one mother the wide world over Today was just one of those days that I was craving some thing chocolate and decadent.Though just not sure what to make. Now  Mom of course loves to ask me the eternal question-“So what did you bake today”? And our chat then centers around exchanging recipes and we can go on for hours with our food banters.Yes,there you go….A huge  inspiration for all the foodie mania in my life…My lovely mother. Well I said just don’t know what to bake as yet! All though …

Hello Friends! A Happy Monday morning to all of you. I do hope everyone’s had a fantastic summer .I’m sure you’ve  found ways of beating this sweltering heat in Dubai, by either travelling to cooler locales, spending time with family and friends or perhaps  whipping cool treats in your kitchens. I’ve had a great summer indeed. It has been a busy one  around my kitchen with the usual recipe testing’s, kids cooking workshops or then just cooking up a storm for family and friends. Well that’s another reason for not having posted for some time but I do promise to get more recipes out soon. Thank you Heba and Brenda for your wonderful recipe which has been altered just a little bit .I had read your post awhile ago and finally got down to making them just recently. Have used some powdered hazelnuts as well, that’s just because I ran out of powdered almonds. These little cookies were a …

Strawberry Velvet Cupcakes-Very berry Delicious

Mom could you bake a Red velvet cakes was dear sons request last week.Actually he’s been after me to bake one for quite some time.I’ve been trying hard to stay off the sugar fix but the sweet tooth was victorious again. Mmmm Strawberries…delicious just as they are on warm summer days.I’m reminded of our berry picking visits while we lived in Toronto the past seven years.Warm summer afternoons spent at these strawberry farms.Walking through expansive fields of strawberries…looking for the brightest and the ripest ones to pick. Now I have seen some fields that seem to grow strawberries on our road trips to Fujairah and Oman.Though not sure if they would welcome strawberry pickers. So ofcourse settled for some store-bought ones. So  got down to browsing some recipes for Red Velvet cakes. There were so many versions and all looked great. However they all used Red food colouring which I’m not too fond of.I wanted to skip using the food colouring all together, when my son butted in and said”That batter hardly looks red” I’ve just added a dash and have substituted by using …
